Weekend Projects – June 27, 2014

June was a busy month filled with birthdays and a very special trip to Europe, so it’s been a while since I’ve attempted a Weekend Project Wishlist.  But now all the festivities are behind me, it’s time to give it another try.  Here’s what I’d like to accomplish this weekend:

  1. Banana bread – lots of it, as I have quite a few bananas that are getting over-ripe
  2. Turkey burgers – I haven’t made any since last summer, and I have a new recipe that I’d like to try
  3. Update my blog!  I am ridiculously back-logged with my blog posts.  I have recipes, travel pics, and food and equipment tests dating back to about 6-8 weeks and I really need to catch up.  That said, my goal is to publish at least three new posts this weekend.

Finally, I have one last goal, which is to try some new make-ahead meals for week nights.  Our daily commute is long, we don’t always have the time or the energy to cook every night, and I want to add some new ideas to our usual weekend fare of “make a big pot of x” and “slow cooker y.”

So here’s my request to all of you:  do you have any different and/or original make-head and/or weeknight recipes that I should try?  Again, I’m looking for something aside from the usual stew and soup far.  If so, please post your recipes in my Comments section!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
